Walking, running and rolling their way, more than 100 people came out on a brisk Sunday morning (Sept. 24) to participate in the annual Community in Motion, Serious(ly) Fun Run.
Held in support of Community Living London (CLL), the event is now in its 12th year.
CLL Executive Director Michelle Palmer noted attendance is up which bodes well for the fundraiser's target goal of $30,000.
She said that all the money raised through the event goes to CLL support and services to help provide non-funded items.
“We collect a list of a wish list every year of things people need and want that are not funded and provide supports for people that way,” said Palmer.
The event was designed to be both fun and inclusive for all, with participants choosing taking either the two- or five-kilometre courses weaving through Springbank Park. In addition, there was also a barbecue for those hungry after the run, an expanded fun-zone for the kids and a special performance by Paul ‘Elvis.’
